Det blir sal av kalde forfriskningar, og me har skjenkebevilling. 

Når fiolinen si klangrike tradisjon møter jazztrompetens uttrykksfulle fridom og kontrabassen sine djupe røter, oppstår ei unik musikalsk reise – der klassisk musikk, jazz, improvisasjon og norsk folkemusikk smeltar saman.

I denne særeigne trioen møtest tre av Noregs mest markante musikarar: Ragnhild Hemsing (fiolin og hardingfele), kjend for si djupe formidling av både klassisk musikk og folketonar; Mathias Eick (trompet), med sin karakteristiske, lyriske tone og sterke nærvær på den internasjonale jazzscena; og Steinar Raknes (kontrabass), ein virtuos improvisatør og komponist med solide røter i både jazz og roots-tradisjonar.

Saman skaper dei musikk som er både jordnær og himmelstrebande – ei lydreise gjennom stemningar, tradisjonar og grenselaus skaparglede.

Publikum vil få høyre eigenkomponerte låtar frå VETRA-universet der jazzen møter folkemusikken. Det blir òg musikk av Grieg, Ole Bull og kjente og kjære salmetonar frå Valdres i splitter ny klangdrakt.

When the rich tradition of the violin meets the expressive freedom of jazz trumpet and the deep roots of the double bass, a unique musical journey unfolds – where classical music, jazz, improvisation, and Norwegian folk music merge into one.

In this distinctive trio, three of Norway’s most prominent musicians come together:

Ragnhild Hemsing (violin and Hardanger fiddle), known for her deep interpretation of both classical music and folk tunes;

Mathias Eick (trumpet), with his characteristic lyrical tone and strong presence on the international jazz scene; and

Steinar Raknes (double bass), a virtuoso improviser and composer with solid roots in both jazz and roots traditions.

Together, they create music that is both grounded and soaring – a sonic journey through moods, traditions, and boundless creative joy.

The audience will experience original compositions from the VETRA universe, where jazz meets folk music. There will also be music by Grieg, Ole Bull, and well-known and beloved hymns from Valdres – all presented in a brand-new sonic landscape.
